Three Bingo Merry Roulette machines were confiscated and handed in at the Police station together with various spares and part of machines. One machine was found hidden under the bed; the shop was suspected to be one of the possible suppliers of the illegal machines. In a prior visit, spares were also found in the shop and information was escalated to Crime Intelligence unit for further investigation.
Two male shop owners were arrested, cases opened and R 2 5000. 00 fines were issued to each. The Board is appealing to community members to work with the Law enforcement personnel and refrain from alerting spaza owners about our compliance inspections/operations.
