Two (2) illegal Bingo Merry Machines were confiscated in Makapanstad and Moeka Vuma where the SAPS arrested 2 suspects, opened cases, issued offence notices and a fine amounting to R2 500 each.
During the operation, a Chinese male suspect was arrested who is a mastermind behind the Fafi illegal operation. Fafi is an illegal lottery game played throughout urban areas and townships in South Africa. In his bakkie the police found material used to play Fafi and R3 000 cash.
The perpetrator was arrested and the monies handed to SAPS and registered in their evidence register, issued with a J534 notice and a fine amounting to R2 500. All his details where recorded and handed over to Crime Intelligence for further investigation. This was a massive success as Fafi was identified as a problem in the area and rife in NW in general.
