1. LETLHABILE – 21 APRIL 2023

The SAPS conducted an operation in the area wherein and four (4) illegal gambling machines were confiscated, three (3) cases opened, three (3) offence notices issued and a fine of R2 500 was given to three (3) tuckshop owners who were in possession of illegal cherry master gambling machines.  

  1. MMAKAU – 09 MAY 2023

 The SAPS conducted an operation in the area and three (3) shops in possession of three (3) illegal gambling machines were confiscated. Three (3) cases were opened and fines amounting to R2 500 each were issued to all three (3) shop owners.

  1. HEBRON – 18 MAY 2023

The SAPS conducted the Crime Prevention Inspections at a supermarket in Hebron and opened cases against the two shop owners wo were found in possession of three (3) illegal gambling machines. They were issued with fines amounting to R2 500 each.

  1. MMAKAU – 15 JUNE 2023   

A Crime Prevention Inspections was conducted in Mmakau wherein three (3) illegal Bingo Merry Roulette gambling machines were confiscated from tuck shops, the SAPS opened three (3) cases and R 2500 fines were issued to the three (3) accused. 

  1. PHOKENG – 26 MAY 2023  

Crime Prevention Inspections was conducted in Phokeng whereby eight (8) machines were confiscated from seven (7) shops in the area. Cases were opened for the seven (7) accused wherein each was fine R1 500.

  6. KLIPGAT – 09 JUNE 2023  

Three (3) illegal Bingo Merry Roulette gambling machines were confiscated from a shop in Klipgat. The SAPS opened a case against the suspect who was issued with a R 2 500 fine.

  1. TLHABANE – 22 JUNE 2023

  During the crime prevention inspection two (2) illegal Bingo Merry Roulette gambling machines were found dumped in a field next to a shop. SAPS did not arrest any suspects and the machines were handed in as “lost and found”.

DESTRUCTION OF MACHINES

During this quarter, around Twenty three (23) Unlicensed Bingo Merry Roulette machines were destroyed by the SAPS.

On 14 April 2023, Klipgat SAPS destroyed Eleven (11) machines.

On 23 June 2023, Mmakau SAPS destroyed Twelve (12).
